CA experiences breakthrough cases of COVID-19 post vaccination

Although COVID-19 cases have significantly decreased in California, data is showing instances of the public catching the coronavirus after receiving their full vaccination. According to the Department of Public Health, there have been 1,379 cases of COVID-19 post-vaccination in California. Sonoma County reported 39 breakthrough cases in the month of April.

SSU nursing ranked third in California

Sonoma State University (SSU) has been recognized as one of the top nursing programs in the state for both salary and education of nursing graduates. RN Careers recently ranked SSU the number three school for best nursing programs in California.

VP of Administration & Finance transitions to new role at Western Washington University

Rohnert Park city council passes new resolution to combat climate change

In response to concerns about climate change, specifically wildfire season in the Sonoma County area, the Rohnert Park City Council passed a resolution to combat catastrophe in an effort that runs parallel to California’s initiative to become more environmentally conscious.

With wildfires regularly ravaging areas of Sonoma County for the last few years between the months of September and November, the city has taken precautions seriously and has adhered to not allowing fireworks within the vicinity of the Rohnert Park area, in a bill passed on March 9.

Car thefts on the rise in Rohnert Park, pandemic may be a catalyst

Amidst this pandemic, reports of car theft have seen a surge all over California and have been especially on the rise in the Rohnert Park area. Auto theft has been on the rise during 2020 and is still an issue in 2021 across the U.S.

This begs the question: Have car thieves gotten more clever with being able to break into cars? The short answer, no.

Student Involvement builds connections

Student Involvement is a great option for SSU students looking to participate and be active with organizations involved with the Seawolf community.

When asked about scatter band via Zoom, Hailey Glass, an SSU freshman, says that “it’s a low-stress group who is untraditional about having fun at SSU events.”
