From math equations to science experiments, being in a math-based major has its perks, including the chance to be invited to an annual leadership conference. That is what happened to Sonoma State students Jeronimo Hernandez and David Tran, who both received invitations to the tenth annual Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Student Leadership Conference.
Flags waving, busy streets, veterans saluting and military cars in tow; the Petaluma Veterans Day Parade and Flyover was underway. The streets were packed with children, families and veterans watching the celebration as each car passed.
Sonoma State is a place filled with multiple organizations and clubs ranging from Greek life, athletics, rights activists and many volunteer programs. Within these organizations and clubs is one club focused on bettering our community while encouraging students to get involved, known as the Black Scholars United.
Each year Sonoma County holds annual events that help get the community involved. This year Sonoma County will be hosting the second annual Great Trivia Challenge on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.
Getting active and exercising is a very important way to stay healthy, especially during one’s college years that are filled with late night Taco Bell runs, 7-Eleven Slurpees and Top Ramen.
