Falling leaves, pumpkin picking, sweater weather, and pumpkin spice lattes; fall has officially begun.

If you couldn’t already tell from the changing colors of the leaves, these factors really let it sink in. Fall is my favorite season and I believe it to be the best time of year.

As students walk around campus they probably notice the vibrant colors of orange, yellow and red that surround us.

The fall season offers so many different activities for one to partake in. The Petaluma Pumpkin Patch is my favorite place to go every fall and pick out some pumpkins.

The best part of the pumpkin patch is that it is free of charge to roam around, until you find the perfect pumpkin to bring home. Picking pumpkins isn’t the only thing you can do at the pumpkin patch; the corn maze is always a big hit and almost everyone gets stuck and struggles to find the exit.

For your inner 5-year-old self, there are the popcorn kernels that you can play with. The beautiful sunflowers line the whole pumpkin patch with their bright yellow petals. This attraction is one of the greatest perks of the season.

Fall also brings new apparel for all of us to wear. Sweaters are a big hit starting in fall and continuing through winter.

A typical Sonoma girl will probably be wearing her new sweater, followed by leggings and topped off with boots and sometimes a scarf. I also forgot to mention the pumpkin spice latte that she will most likely be walking with.

I have to admit that I’m obsessed with Starbucks and their new seasonal drinks. This season on the menu you can look forward to the infamous Pumpkin Spice lattes. This pumpkin deliciousness tastes great served hot or cold. Another drink that I recently have tried is the Spiced Apple Cider. This holiday favorite is great at anytime of the year and has the right spice to it.

These festive drinks and treats aren’t limited to Starbucks either; if you look around most restaurants and coffee shops you’ll quickly notice that everyone really gets into the spirit of autumn.

Speaking of sweater weather and coffee, did you know that those are both scents for Bath and Body works newest fall collection of candles? Yes, sweater weather is actually the title of one of their candles.

In the fall collection you can look forward to the various scents of pumpkin cupcake, leaves, pumpkin carving, pumpkin spiced latte, harvest coffee and many more. They smell so delicious that you’ll want to eat it, but please don’t. These candles are the perfect addition to any room and are great gifts as well.

From pumpkins to sweaters and candles, fall is an overall comfy and warm time. Of course not exactly warm temperature-wise. No, warm with the atmosphere and the anticipation of the arrival of the holidays. Fall also brings us one of the best holidays: Thanksgiving.

I know I’m not the only one already picturing the turkey and mashed potatoes that go along with this holiday. Yes, food is a great part of the festivities, but also the time and the people you spend it with.

So cue the Ed Sheeran music, light your sweater weather candle, grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte and enjoy the leaves falling.

Fall is not here for long and before you know it Jingle Bell Rock and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer will be taking over the radio.
