SSU faculty gives back to the community with face masks

Sonoma State University staff is working together to give back to the Sonoma State community during this difficult time. A group of Sonoma State staff will be volunteering their time to make masks for essential students and faculty that are still on campus.

As COVID-19 spreads at a high rate throughout the United States, how college students are being affected is extremely overlooked. Within the last two weeks, Sonoma State has gone from canceling three days of face-to-face classes, to canceling a whole month, and now canceling all in-person classes until next semester as well as postponing graduation.

JUMP gives back to the community with SOUP-ER

For students interested in giving back while staying connected with Join Us Making Progress (JUMP) should look into Serving Our Underfed People Everyday Re-Packaging (SOUP-ER). SOUP-ER is a program that focuses on repackaging leftover food from the Sonoma State Cafeteria to be donated to the Orenda Center, a local drug and addiction rehabilitation center in Santa Rosa.
