Goodbye. Adios. Au Revoir. Arrivederci. No matter how you say goodbye, it doesn’t make it any easier. Dylan Sirdofsky, the Sonoma State STAR’s Editor-in-Chief and beloved friend will be retiring his duties and moving on to the “real world.”

Join Sonoma State University’s B Natural Seawolf Singers club on Sunday in Ives 101 at 7 p.m. for their second annual vocal showcase. This year’s theme is “Off the Charts,” where they will be singing classics and “underground anthems.”

T-shirts, shorts, sandals, barbeques and plenty of warm weather. The anticipation of summer being just around the corner has everyone, especially students, yearning for different ways to relax during their extended time off.

With Sonoma State having a student body of more than 9,000 students, there is an immense amount of hidden talent waiting to be discovered. Entreprenoma will host the second annual Market Day today, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., outside at the Seawolf Plaza, between the Rec and Student Centers. 

There are certain topics that most people get squeamish talking about and more often than not, would rather avoid completely. Cancer seems to be one of those topics. Although a very serious and heavy subject to talk about, it’s something that needs to be addressed. What better way to talk about something so critical than to lighten it up by dancing the day away.

It’s not uncommon for students to walk around campus with their heads down, spaced out on their phones. More often than not, a simple “hello” or “hey” will be exchanged between students rather than engaging in full-on conversations. This prevents students from connecting with each other, causing them to miss out on meeting people, which can lead to opportunities.

The eagerness for the first half of the semester to end is building. Students are preparing for midterms and planning to take off for spring break. But at Sonoma State University, Associated Students Productions can’t let everyone leave without a proper sendoff.

Many college students worry about life after school and what kind of job they will eventually have. Most of the time, students aren’t even sure of what direction they want to head in as far as careers go because they don’t know what’s out there.

Blues, tattoos and rad moves. Oh my. Guests can expect this and much more at Izzy’s 24th Annual Tattoo and Blues Festival taking place Friday to March 1, at the Flamingo Conference Resort and Spa in Santa Rosa.

There’s nothing that attracts struggling college students more than the word “free.” That appeared as the biggest appeal of the “Skate with a Date” event put on by Sonoma State  University Associated Students Productions at Cal Skate in Rohnert Park, where some people fell in love, while others just fell on their behinds.

People dream of traveling the country and seeing the sights that America has to offer, but money and time often get in the way of doing so. So pack light and get ready to embark on a journey across the country on Feb. 28 at the Green Music Center.
