Men’s team drops the ball; Otters victorious

Last week on Tuesday, the Sonoma State men’s basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Cal State Monterey Bay in the Wolve’s Den. The Seawolves started off with fire in their hearts and intensity in their moves, but eventually saw a 75-50 loss to one of their conference rivals as the game progressed.

Women’s basketball returns to the court

The Sonoma State Women's Basketball team is finally on track to start its 2021-22 regular season after being held out of its previous season due to Covid-19. The on-going pandemic that has influenced the lives of many students as well as cancelations of whole sporting events for an entire year now seems to be calming down with many of SSU’s athletic seasons coming back to life.

Women’s soccer remains victorious

On Nov. 4, the Sonoma State women’s soccer team accomplished one of their biggest goals that has many SSU fans cheering with joy. Following their victory at San Francisco State, the women's team managed to win their conference by getting first place in their CCAA division standings for the second season in a row.

County health officials move to lift indoor mask mandate

On Oct. 21, Sonoma County health officials announced a plan to lift the county-wide indoor mask mandate for vaccinated groups of under 100 people. This new step forward comes ahead of a Bay Area-wide plan to do away with the mask mandate by the end of the year. As health officials come to the conclusion that COVID-19 will never be eradicated, Sonoma County is on track to begin adapting to this new reality.

Men’s basketball team returns to court

The COVID-19 pandemic that has caused much cancelations of sporting events in an effort to reduce its cases and to protect the health of it’s students and athletes still lingers. Now, with Sonoma State starting to resume its athletic programs for the 2021-22 year, many students and athletes are pleased to see sporting events return to campus. With November slowly approaching, it is now the Sonoma State men’s basketball team’s turn to make its first appearance since the 2019-20 year.
