Stress Less with the Rec

Veronica Benvenuto, Staff Writer December 9, 2014

Stress is in the air once again at Sonoma State University. “Stress Less at the Rec” was a weeklong event, with different activities each day from 5-8 p.m., Monday to Friday. Monday provided games of dodgeball where students could take a study break, drop in and let off some steam after a long day of hitting the books. It didn’t matter if they knew how to play or had never played before – it was just a chance to enjoy.

It’s not the average kind of “happy hour” that one may be thinking. Instead, the Recreation inMotion program has featured a variety of free classes at noon on Friday.

Happy Hour is a free inMotion class every Friday but the classes change every week. People can get a chance to see what all the different classes have to offer.

Pick a side, any side

It’s looking like an orange October with many people hopping on the Giants bandwagon. The reason being, another moment in history has been made because the Giants have won the World Series. While San Francisco may be overjoyed by the win, “bandwagoners” will soon evolve.

Anxiety over Ebola is spreading faster than the actual virus. Some say it is the next plague. With transportation around the world being so easy, there is rising fear of where it will spread next.

Save the tatas

Pinktober is upon us, because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Most have had some kind of experience with the pink because the boobies have become a sensation, especially when it comes to marketing.

Travel the world, you won’t regret it

Veronica Benvenuto, Staff Writer October 14, 2014

The saying “you only live once,” otherwise known as “YOLO” is partially true. People have one chance to live life to the fullest and experience many different things. The best way to accomplish that is by having a better insight of everything through traveling.

Made from the heart

If you want to know about the food that you are eating, what better way than going right to the source? The farmers market is a wonderful method to find out where your food is coming from. Farmers markets have a lot of benefits one might not realize. Growing up, almost every Saturday my mom and I would go to the local farmers market to get the best produce. It made such a difference, and the produce had such rich flavors since we bought it fresh.

Pumpkin spice, everything nice

Veronica Benvenuto, Staff Writer September 30, 2014

The crisp breeze has finally made its way to Sonoma County. Summer has gone and fall is here, but with the sun always shining is that honestly the case in California? People only know its fall here when pumpkin spice lattes, fuzzy sweaters and knee-high boots are back.

You are what you eat

The old saying, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” is not true anymore due to the chemicals used to make fruits and vegetables grow in this era. Our crops and livestock, which are supposed to be healthy, are now very questionable due to the genetically modified organisms, also known as “GMO.”

A man’s best friend

Veronica Benvenuto, Staff Writer September 16, 2014

For centuries dogs have been described as a man’s best friend, but this may not hold true. There is a worldwide pet population and many people don’t realize how breeders are not the actual cause of this problem.

Don’t live your life in fear

Veronica Benvenuto, Staff Writer September 10, 2014

Ladies, get the pepper spray out. If you’re an avid checker of Sonoma State email, then you probably know about the recent incidents that have occurred in the community of Rohnert Park regarding women being attacked and assaulted. It has sparked a running concern in my mind wondering if any woman is truly safe.
