Perks and pitfalls of Greek life

They say you have to be in it to understand it, and luckily I have. I’m talking about Greek life, which 20 percent of student body is a part of. But is Greek life all it is cracked up to be? The stereotypical phenomenon is that Greek life consists of parties with sorority girls and frat guys who value “going out” over getting grades.

Musician Jonathan Batiste rocked the Green Music Center last Saturday for his first “Stay Human” tour. The audience was out of their seats for the full hour that Batiste performed, dancing and cheering to the band’s electrifying jazz numbers.

Every two minutes someone in the United States is sexually assaulted, according to the Sonoma State Police Services website.. Although it isn’t always possible to prevent a sexual assault, there are many things that can be done to receive help right on our campus.
