Theatre Arts & Dance announces Spring ’21 Guest Speaker Series

The Theatre Arts and Dance Department have announced their special visitors for their upcoming Spring 2021 Guest Speaker Series. The department has certain events for different classes within the major. The events run on from now until the end of the school year in May.

‘Alphabet Rockers’ groove at the GMC

Family Week is a yearly event hosted by Sonoma State University in hopes to connect Seawolves and their families with the SSU campus. The celebration this year includes hearing from some of the school’s administration and officials, indulging in school traditions, and showing families where the students home away from home is. With this year’s events being all virtual, SSU has put on several zoom-based events for everyone to enjoy.

78th Golden Globe nominees announced

With the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards looming in the near weeks, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced the nominees for the upcoming star-studded event. The event looks to recognize excellence in the film industry over the last 12 months and celebrate the achievements made by filmmakers. The event aims to honor the best American and International films, television shows, actor and actress performances as well as many more categories that are up for grabs coming in the next week.

Honoring Black History Month with ‘Celebrating Family’ in Petaluma

As February continues, so does the festivities of Black History Month in Sonoma County. Folks in Petaluma have been accustomed to celebrating the annual month long observance by interacting and participating in elaborate exhibits and events all over town. But, in the midst of a pandemic causing the Petaluma Historical Library and Museum to still be closed, Petaluma Blacks for Community Development, the organization putting on these events has been forced to think outside the box. The outcome of this has turned a square mile part of Petaluma Downtown into a part time gallery of art and appreciation.

‘Music and Black Culture’ come to Sonoma State

To help celebrate Black History Month throughout all of February. Sonoma State University is collaborating with various guest speakers of different artistic categories such as music, theater, art and much more in effort to honor the history, leaders and accomplishments of the black community.
