CalFresh grants $150 in grocery money per month

International student talks going abroad

Traveling is something that you’d have a hard time finding somebody who wants to do less of it. People have aspirations of seeing the wonders of the world though not many get the opportunity. The privilege to travel often requires a great deal of money and to most college students it's merely a pipe dream, but not for SSU students. SSU’s study abroad program might sound like a complicated or confusing process; yet it is remarkably easy.

Semester kicks off with seasonal Lobofest

Sonoma State students gathered in Seawolf Plaza this past Wednesday to explore several clubs and organizations during the seasonal Lobofest showcase. The event gave an opportunity to over 100 clubs and organizations to show off what they’re about and potentially attract students who could  benefit in joining.  Lobofest had a variety of groups to be involved in, everything from fraternities and sororities to mental health services were tabling.  


Seawolves shine-in series win

Sonoma State’s Baseball team walked away from their clash with CSU Dominguez Hills on top, winning three out of their four games. Despite the best efforts of the rain to halt the series after the first game on Thursday, the teams were able to battle it out on the Santa Rosa JC’s field on Friday. The Seawolves came away victorious in both games. This was followed the very next day with a doubleheader. The games were split on that occasion. It’s coming at a vital time for the Seawolves as their season has been a mixed bag so far. This series win now brings them to 6-12 in CCAA(California Collegiate Athletic Association) play and 12-14 overall.

Seawolves sweep Lumberjacks

Sonoma State’s Softball team’s fearsome reputation continues to make its rounds through the league. Four games were fought between Cal Poly Humbolt’s Lumberjacks and SSU’s Seawolves. It tested the Seawolves to their very limits until finally, the Lumberjacks started to cave from the Seawolf offense in the series finale as the Seawolves swept.

SSU Lacrosse steamrolls UC Davis Aggies

Sonoma State Men’s Lacrosse season has been nothing short of chaotic. What started with a season-opening win against Stanford quickly flipped into four consecutive losses, leaving the team with a desire to regroup and regain that opening game energy. Luckily for the Seawolves, the tides have turned in their favor as they turned that losing streak on its head.

Men’s golf continues CCAA title defense

The Sonoma State’s Men’s Golf team pushed themselves to their very hardest this past week with another top five finish. Last year’s CCAA (California Collegiate Athletic Association) tournament champions showed their class on the grass at the Battle in the Desert in San Bernardino.
