Sheriff Deputy gets new weapon

The phrase “A dog is a man’s best friend” has taken a new meaning for Sheriff's Deputy, George Minaglia, and his crime-fighting K-9, Vito. The two-year-old Belgian Malinois first came to the police station in August where Vito and Minaglia bonded instantly.

Sonoma State University Students Serve Firefighters and Evacuees on Local Coffee Truck

This past week, a couple of Sonoma State University students were able to serve complimentary coffee to Sonoma County evacuees and firefighters battling the Kincade fire. These students currently work at Dutch Bros Coffee and teamed with the owner in order to serve those who were evacuating and serving the county. 

Graton tribe to donate 2.85 million to Sonoma State nature preserve

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria are donating $2.85 million to Sonoma State University, aiding in the restoration of the university’s Fairfield Osborn Preserve. The Fairfield Osborn Preserve, soon to be renamed the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Learning Center, will provide environmental and educational learning experiences for all.
