New course fees set to be implemented in fall

Faculty strike dates announced for April

In a meeting in the Student Center last week, members of the California Faculty Association at Sonoma State University announced a plan involving a five-day strike on all 23 California State University campuses as part of negotiations. If negotiations are not met, the strike will occur from April 13 to April 19 with downtime during the weekend.

Sexual assault training deadline approaching

The replacement of Sonoma State University’s mandatory online sexual assault training program was postponed for a week in order to work out final issues with the system. As of Feb. 5, the program was made available to students and will have a new deadline of Feb. 28.

University bans hoverboards amid safety concerns

Amid the rapid rise in popularity for hoverboards and similar electric personal vehicles, Sonoma State University’s Housing Services recently announced a ban on the use and storage of the vehicles in campus residential areas. Housing services cited numerous incidents nationwide involving the devices potential to catch fire and explode while charging and when in operation. The ban went into effect on Jan. 15.
