Construction has begun for an amphitheater next to the Green Music Center

Award-winning poet to come to Sonoma State

Sam Sax is all about “Poems on poems on poems.” A Poetry Fellow at the Michener Center for Writers, Sax will be reading his work at Sonoma State University on Wednesday, Dec. 9. 

He is the special guest this month at SPOKE, a monthly event hosted by the HUB on campus for the Sonoma State community to share their poetry and listen to the work of others.

Superburger is back and better than ever

It’s hit and miss when finding a to-die-for burger joint in a small town. Well Rohnert Park just got one of those places after the infamous Superburger closed in Penngrove and relocated.  Now nestled among the other small shops and restaurants at the Grapevine Plaza on Old Redwood Hwy in Cotati, I had the chance to go to Superburger for the first time and review the well-known restaurant.

Furry friends will keep students sane

Going off to college can be a big step. If one moves far away they’re leaving their friends and family behind. Even if students stick close to home they’re still not around as much. Sonoma State University students are in a new environment with large classes, annoyingly small beds, and a new roommate who will either be their best friend or their mortal enemy by the end of the year. But perhaps what they will miss the most is their small, furry family member they have to leave at home.

Seawolves’ kick off basketball season with Midnite Madness

Basketball season began with a slam dunk on Wednesday with Sonoma State University’s annual Midnite Madness celebration. Midnite Madness is the team’s first official day of practice, commemorating the start of the college basketball season. A large pep rally is traditionally held the night before the first game of the season, with events lasting until midnight.
