Officials from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office have identified a suspect in the Sonoma State University officer-involved shooting on May 5 in Cotati as Eduardo Martinez Sanchez of Santa Rosa. Martinez Sanchez, 22, remains hospitalized from wounds he suffered in the shooting that took place around 5 a.m. following a fight in downtown Cotati.

It may come as a surprise to many students, but there is an election in Sonoma County today. The election consists of one question: Should the county adopt a tax on cannabis-related businesses?

Sonoma State University students and faculty were left stunned late last week by the discovery of a body near the Green Music Center. The remains turned out to be that of an 18-year-old missing Cotati man who was believed to be the victim of a homicide.
