UC system considers tuition increase

Students address fees at trustees meeting

Since 2002, campus-based fees have increased 283 percent with increases occurring nearly every year. This year, California State University Chancellor Timothy White and the Board of Trustees have granted Student Success Fees to several campuses. On Nov. 13, students from different California State Universities arrived in Long Beach to address White and the Board of Trustees and address the issue of fee increases.

Initiative aims to aid distressed students

Sonoma State University administration has taken an initiative to help aid students and improve the safety of the campus as a whole. It’s is called the Red Folder Initiative. The initiative is an educational reference for faculty and other staff members to turn to for guidance when encountering a distressed student. The Red Folder Initiative was also put into action with University of California campuses roughly two years ago. 

University system, faculty association reach agreement

The time has come for the California Faculty Association and the California State University system to make a mutual agreement that will better benefit faculty and students. The concept of the agreement is about the necessity of fair contracts but also fair payments for faculty in the CSU system.

Grant program creates opportunity for students
