There’s no place like home after graduation

When I first moved out to California, I never thought I would be moving back in with my parents. I had gone to school in New York for two and a half years, and took a semester off to save money for a move out to the West Coast to start the rest of my life. As these last three years progressed it seems as though life had other plans for me, and it’s time for me to hop on board.

Adventure is out there

Having these four or more years of your life to figure out who you really are is exhilarating. Staying in the United States for college is part of that plan for many students. But, there are the few brave ones who decide that there is more out there to be explored and learned from, even while still in school. Going overseas at some point in college is helpful in more ways than one.

Employers need to lower standards

Even though the recession isn’t exactly getting worse, the job market for college graduates isn’t getting much better. Competition is as high as it’s been in a long time, seeing as those who got laid off during the recession are looking for the same jobs that recent college graduates are. The jobs us soon-to-be college graduates were promised before we entered college are no longer there, and the expectations from hiring managers are less obtainable.

Football team debate is not a battle of sexes

Gender equality through Title IX is not the only thing holding Sonoma State from bringing back a football team. Everyone knows we don’t currently have one ;but once students find out we used to have one, they become puzzled as to why we don’t now.
