The UndocuScholars Coalition is looking for new perspectives and assistance in accomplishing future club goals as it meets with potential candidates to take on the role of co-chair next semester. 

For Sonoma State Students who knew Paulette Quiba, her passing has been a difficult loss to process given the mark she left behind in the lives of many.

“You are welcome here.” 

With a simple sentence providing a strong message, Sonoma State University students, faculty and staff welcome international students to attend not only Sonoma State, but CSU campuses nationwide.

The “You Are Welcome Here” campaign aims to affirm that CSU “institutions are diverse, friendly, safe and committed to student development,” with the hope of encouraging international students to study abroad in the United States, according to the campaign. 

The Women of Color Collective is a unique outlet for female students of color at Sonoma State University. 

Every week, its members come together to discuss current issues that concern them and to share personal struggles with peers from similar backgrounds.

The many college students who are concerned with securing jobs after graduation may want to look into the assistance provided by Sonoma State University.  

Career Services hosted a LinkedIn workshop Sept. 12 from 1 - 2 p.m. The department, once part of Academic Affairs, is now connected to Student Affairs and is located in Salazar 1070. 

“What now?” 

That is the question that many undocumented students are asking after the Sept. 5 cancellation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. 

President Donald Trump has rescinded the program that benefits around 800,000 undocumented individuals who entered the country as children. 

Fear. Uncertainty. Shame. These are some of the obstacles many undocumented students face on their way to success, but without having to look hard, we can find students who demonstrate resilience and perseverance such as Monica Robledo Cornejo, Sonoma State University’s first undocumented commencement speaker.

The several Sonoma State University students required to complete an internship for their majors may want to take advantage of this year’s Service and Internship Fair.
