Cyrus released her newest album “Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz” August 30.

Miley Cyrus continues to shock and confuse her fans with the release of her perplexing new album, “Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz.” Cyrus released the news that she will be dropping this album during the 2015 VMAs.

The artiststarted off her career by starring in her television series, “Hannah Montana” in 2006. Cyrus went from being a teen pop culture sensation to an abnormal creature with such a quick rise to fame.

The young pop star has evolved drastically as represented throughout her repertoire of albums.

As Cyrus has progressed, she hasbeen recognized for her amazing vocals. The artist never had a hard time demonstrating how talented she really is by hitting outstanding notes in every song of hers. As of late, after having listened to Miley’s new work, some are left confused and offended. “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” features unusual lyrics and song titles such as, “I’m so Drunk,”  with the only lyrics being “I’m so drunk / I can’t even explain what I feel right now.”

Although Cyrus now targets an older demographic, younger fans still remain, while Cyrus’ new priority seems to be to shock the public with her newest and most creative ideas, or so she thinks.

“I honestly think her new album is ridiculous and nothing like her old work,”  said sophomore Sara Citti.

After Miley presented a scandalous performance during the 2013 VMAs, the innocent country girl fans all knew and loved from the teen girl obsession, “The Last Song” had officially left them for good. She now prefers to sing about how intoxicated she is.

“After seeing Miley’s music evolve into what it is today, I no longer look up to her. She mainly just confuses me,” said senior Tessa Altshuler.

To say that the general public found Miley’s newest album terribly confusing and frightening would be an understatement. The negative attention does not seem to tear down or discourage the motivated, young professional, nor will it for her work to come.
