Midterms are fast approaching for the SSU campus, which means it’s time to highlight some of the best study spots here on campus, nearly all of which have outlets to charge your devices.

The library is home to many places that are perfect for studying, whether individually or with a group, with different floors offering different resources.
The third floor of the library has seating with dividers available as well as study rooms that can be reserved online on the University Library’s website. These locations offer a quiet area to work individually or to meet with a group in one of the study rooms. With many of the study rooms having views outside as well as seating and whiteboards, they can serve as one of the most beneficial and usable spaces on campus for studying, meetings, or even general discussions.
The second floor of the library includes a large amount of computers as well as printers for student use. This area offers a large variety of seating as well as usable working areas and work stations.
The first floor of the library has more seating and computer access. Many of the workshops and resource centers, such as the Learning and Academic Resource Center, are all on the first floor, as well as more printers and a couple vending machines for any urgent snacking needs.

Stevenson Hall is home to many classes, offices of faculty, and other resources, but it is also a great place to study and often have space for yourself.
The first floor of Stevenson offers a large seating area with tables and chairs spread out, as well as additional open seating on the second floor up the stairs. However, these are only the most immediately recognizable areas to meet and study in Stevenson Hall. Both the second and third floors of Stevenson offer seating capable of groups as well as individuals around the perimeter of the inside of the building.

The second and third floors of Stevenson have many seating areas that are quiet and offer a comfortable environment not far from many classes. When walking through Stevenson, it can be easy to miss all of these seating areas, but often there will be a quiet corner or area in a hallway that can accommodate one or more.
Outside Options:
If you are tired of being inside or want another option, there are seating areas outside that are still close to classes and the Library and often available throughout the day.
In between Stevenson and Darwin Hall, right in front of Toast, there are many tables and chairs that are available and offer somewhere to study without being stuck inside. It can be a bit noisy as many students pass through and by this area, but there are often long stretches of general calm and quiet, and if you are there Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 1p.m., you can grab a snack or drink from Toast while you’re there.
Outside of the first floor of the Library there are seating areas both covered and uncovered. These areas offer close access to the Library as well as a generally quieter option compared to other outside seating areas, all without having to walk far from classes. There are often more students utilizing the covered seating area, but open seating is still easy to find.
