The women’s pole vault competition saw Katie Snedden making a massive statement, earning herself a third place spot while competing against a stacked UCSB pole vaulting squad that is riddled with talent. Her performance under the pressure of a dominating team shows the athleticism Snedden possesses while she finished as the only non Santa Barbara athlete within the top five.
But one of the evening’s most noteworthy accomplishments was in the women’s high jump event. Amber Walker leaped into second place, showing a brilliant jump that earned her a top 3 position. Close behind her in the standings was Jazmine Severo, who worked her way to a third-place finish. Together, they secured two top-three spots for Sonoma State.
