    Sonoma’s got talent

Ever seen someone lift up a car, breathe fire, or pull a rabbit out of a hat? This might be the chance to see all three and much more.

The second annual Multicultural Talent Showcase, brought together by the Sonoma State Multicultural Greek Council and Associated Students, will take place Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in Ives 101. The show will exhibit talents of people throughout the Sonoma State community and will be free of charge.

According to the Sonoma State University website, the Multicultural Greek Council consists of fraternities and sororities that seek to promote the general welfare and support the diversity of all students, as well as those of the Greek community and the larger communities of SSU and Rohnert Park.

Last year this event was put on by the Multicultural Greek Council only, but this year they teamed up with Associated Students to make the event bigger, better and more available to all students.

The last day to sign up for auditions is today. Although, for those hearing about the event for the first time, the Multicultural Greek Council will make considerations today and tomorrow for late sign-ups if interested individuals mention they heard about the event through this article.

Email [email protected] to sign up.

President of the Multicultural Greek Council, Vanessa Garcia, is always looking for new ways to expose Sonoma State students to the Multicultural Greek Council and what it has to offer.

“I love being a part of the Multicultural Greek Council because it allows different organizations to come together in one place to work towards a common goal,” said junior Vanessa Garcia. “The goal is to bring multicultural awareness to the SSU community.”

The six organizations that are a part of the Multicultural Greek Council are Lambda Sigma Gamma, Lambda Theta Nu, Kappa Delta Zeta, Sigma Pi Alpha, Sigma Lambda Beta and Sigma Omega Nu.

Regular meetings for the council are held on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Erin Fisher Room of the Student Union.
