First Lady Melania Trump’s ‘Be Best’ campaign launched to take a stand towards cyber bullying, ironically snubbing at her husband.

Over 80 percent of teens use a cell phone regularly, making it the most common medium for bullying. While 1 in 4 children say they have been bullied more than once, according to the ‘Do Something’ campaign.

Cyberbullying can refer to internet bullying and can statistically show it affects adolescents and teens on a daily basis. There are many forms of cyberbullying like sending mean messages or threats to a person’s email account or cell phone, spreading rumors online, stealing one’s person account information and sending damaging messages, pretending be someone online that you are not, sexting or circulation sexually suggestive pictures or messages about a person.

The First Lady launched her ‘Be Best’ campaign in the White House on Monday. According to the Market Watch, Melania Trump states, “When children learn positive online behaviors early on, social media can be used in productive ways and can affect positive change.”

The irony is, Donald Trump, our president, is the biggest bully of them all. Critics pointed out Trump’s overblown use on Twitter and how it is used to call out members of the press and political opponents in a condescending way. Not to mention often using hashtags and unflattering nicknames towards people, giving our president a negative image, as if he did not have that already.

For instance, in one of Donald Trump’s infamous tweets he states, “Eight Syrians were just caught on the southern border trying to get in the U.S ISIS maybe? I told you so. WE NEED A BIG & BEAUTIFUL WALL!” First off, Trump is assuming these eight people are associated to ISIS and bringing light again to this wall idea; as if our country does not have other significant issues to focus on.

According to the Huffington Post, the message from the ‘Be Best’ website is to combat bullying online, but completely contradicts her husband. ‘Be Best’ should apply to President Donald Trump, who often uses Twitter to belittle critics and rivals.

With Trump’s constant backlash on social media, specifically Twitter, he doesn’t give our younger generations hope, yet alone our nation hope about cyberbullying. Trump is the biggest bully and truly doesn’t set a good example to put an end to this issue.

Trump’s negativity and what our so-called ‘president’ is doing, but it is not going to stop Trump from doing what he wants. Cyberbullying has become a huge issue in our country, especially in our youth, and it will continue to be prominent unless something changes. It surely will not change if the leader of our nation continues to be a bully himself. Better yet, maybe Trump should go read this campaign, because this is not how the president should act.
