This Christmas, give the gift of movies and popcorn. Let us all hope Santa Claus was generous enough to leave behind a couple of movie tickets for these upcoming films featured on the day of Christmas. While opening gifts on Christmas morning is one of the greatest thrills, one can never deny watching an anticipated movie at the theater, which could sometimes be just as thrilling.
This Christmas, watch Ben Stiller in one of his most anticipated movies of the year, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.” This action film is filled with comedy and fantasy. When Walter Mitty, (Stiller) and his co-worker Cheryl’s (Kristen Wigg) job is threatened, Walter’s once boring life with little spark, turns into frequent day dreams. His constant spills of ‘zone-outs’ are filled with fantasies about adventurous voyages where he is a part of action filled scenes he has imaginatively created in his head.
While doing so, he becomes a fearless hero and a charming lover. He stumbles into deadly actions but survives them all. And no Stiller movie is complete without a little love spell; in the film he also experiences a deep love for Cheryl during the duration of his fanatical journey. Walter’s boring life of routine turns into unforgettable moments as he jumps off of buildings and helicopters, finds love and in the end finds what he had really been looking for all along, himself. To learn that life is more exciting with a little imagination, this action film could be the ticket to a great life lesson.
For all those drama filled flick folks, there is “American Hustle.” With a fame filled cast, this movie guarantees five stars. This epic story reveals the lives of the thrilling acts these con artist characters embark on, all to live the glamour life, or in their words, the hustle is dedicated to simply ‘survive.’
Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) has a sexy and scheming partner, Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) whom he plans his devious adventures with, while they are forced to work for the outrageous FBI agent, Richard Dimaso (Bradley Cooper). Dimaso’s lucrative propositions get Irving and Sydney hooked on the lifestyle that causes much conflict in their lives. New Jersey’s political operator, Carmine Polito played by Jeremy Renner is caught in the middle through his decision in assisting the Feds and also the con artists. It all boils down to Irving’s wife whose erratic actions is anyone’s guess; this turning point could potentially bring everyone down in flames.
Speaking of flames, Justin Bieber, doesn’t stop at music. His new documentary film, “Justin Bieber’s Believe,” will have little girls ditching Santa on Christmas to see the premiere of his new film. A little older and hopefully a lot wiser, Bieber has generously decided to share the gift of his personal story to all his crazy yelling fans. Directed by Jon M. Chu, same director of Bieber’s previous film, “Never Say Never,” captures the life of Bieber’s behind the scene moments and spotlight bonuses. In this documentary, Bieber openly speaks of his inspiration behind his music, love messes and successes and his coming of age. In addition, the film includes interviews by his manager Scooter Braun, Patti Mallette, Usher, Ludacris, his mother and more.
“American Hustle,” may be hot and heavy, while “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” may produce some light laughs and romantic scenes. While Bieber’s “Believe,” may be more shocking than we all give him credit for.
Whatever movie it is one stumbles upon at the movie theater this Christmas, there will be one to fit each persons needs. And who knows, maybe even Santa will take a load off and enjoy the comfort of a soft drink and extra butter on his popcorn, as he relaxes in the dark room in front of a cinematic large movie screen.
