Former soldier voices military distress

Academy Awards nominee “The Invisible War,” a 2012 documentary on rape victims in the U.S. military, now hits a lot closer to home. With one of the women in the film living here in Rohnert Park, the Feminist Lecture Series at Sonoma State invited her to speak about the traumatic personal experiences she encountered and those of other females in the military.

School of Business and Economics hires new executive director

This week John Stayton will step in as the new executive director of graduate and executive education for both the executive and evening MBA programs in Sonoma’s School of Business and Economics. Although he is new to Sonoma State, Stayton has already made a big splash both in Sonoma County and at Dominican University in San Rafael.

Athletics raise support through Homecoming Hospitality

For a university of roughly 8,500 people, support for athletics may be somewhat lacking, especially since SSU athletic teams continue to rise above many teams from larger, more spirited schools. The Sports Management Group in association with the Athletics Association are working to bring a more cohesive school spirit to SSU.
